How OSBC MRP works

A practical explanation of what the MRP rows mean, what they do not mean, and how to avoid comparing the wrong bottle or size.

What OSBC MRP means on this site

OSBC price-list snapshots are annual source files. Odisha Mada reads those snapshots, normalizes product names where defence suffixes would otherwise split the same bottle, and keeps size rows separate.

An MRP row is the maximum retail price listed in the source file for that product and pack size. It is statewide for Odisha, so Bhubaneswar and Cuttack use the same listed MRP as the rest of the state.

Defence rows are not merged into public MRP rows. If the source lists a defence pack separately, the site keeps that label visible so the two prices are not mixed.

The history table on bottle pages compares the archived annual snapshots. It should be read as year-over-year movement, not weekly or daily price tracking.

Why names can look duplicated

Supplier names and product spellings are not always perfectly consistent across annual files.

When the source changes a spelling, the site avoids guessing too aggressively because a wrong merge is worse than a visible duplicate.

How to verify a price

Match the exact product name, size, and public or defence label.

Use the current year column for today's guide price, then check older columns only for context.
